  4. When I check voicemail over the phone it tells me I have no new messages but there are ones I haven’t played.

Once a message is viewed in email it is no longer new and will become a “saved” message when accessing it over the phone. To listen to a saved message choose saved messages (option 3). You may also flag the message as new again from email. Also note: Unity only manages messages in your inbox, if they are moved to another folder they can’t be listened to over the phone.

  5. My message light isn’t on when I have messages that haven’t been played.

The message light on the phone will only light for unread/new voicemails. Once a message is viewed in email or listened to over the phone it is no longer new. See question above.

  6. When I check voicemail, it tells me my mailbox is almost full even when there are no voicemails.

With unified messaging both voicemail and email are stored in your email account. The system is referring to all items in your mailbox. You will need to delete email to make room for new email/voicemails. If you are consistently over your limit you may request a larger mailbox from Betty Altenburg at altenburgb@gtc.edu.

  7. How do I transfer a call directly to a voicemail box, so it will not ring on the recipient's phone?

Press the Transfer button and dial 5001 then the 4 digit extension. Press transfer again or hang up the phone. Complete the transfer as quickly as possible so the caller does not get the first part of the mailbox greeting cut off.
